PROF. IR. DR. WAN AZLINA COMBUSTION LABORATORY


Prof. Ir. Dr. Wan Azlina Wan Abdul Karim Ghani

Dr. Wan Azlina is a chemical engineering professor at UPM. She received her bachelor degree in chemical engineering at UTM, Malaysia. After her doctoral studies (at University of Sheffield, awarded in 2005), she began working as a senior lecturer at UPM. At UPM, she actively participate in research in energy and environmental. Her main research interest includes biomass and waste characterization and valorization, green and renewable process design and product development and waste management. Dr. Wan has over 79 publications in peer-reviewed journals including articles in Desalination, Chemical Engineering Journals, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, etc. She has over 36 local/international/ community/industry grants with cumulative value of greater than RM 3,700,000 as principal investigator and project members. She has been awarded with a number of prestigious awards in academic/research such as Outstanding Women In Engineering (Venus, India), Knowledge Achievement In notion and Science Award (Mustapha Foundation, Iran), and Loreal Fellowship for Women in Science - see Award section (here)
